Gregs Classmates Characters Close up

Greg's classmates

 Fregley

Fregley, is a repulsive, disgusting, dorky, and weird kid. In Dog Days, it is revealed that he is sent home once every month for improper hygiene. Greg expresses discomfort around Fregley, especially because every time Greg walks by his front yard to get to Rowley's house, Fregley tries to talk Greg into topics such as his "secret freckle" or how his scab smells. Fregley never leaves his front yard during the summer, which Greg believes is because Fregley's parents had installed an electric fence around the yard. In the movie, he is played by Grayson Russell and in the second movie, he is said to join the cheerleader's team
In the FunBrain version, his name is spelled "Fregly," and he does not go to school.

 Holly Hills

Holly Hills, the sister of Heather Hills, is a girl Greg likes in The Last Straw. According to Greg, she is the fourth prettiest girl in his grade. At the end of The Last Straw, Greg gives up on trying to make Holly his girlfriend because she mistakes him for Fregley, which Greg takes as an insult. Also, she tells Greg that he's OK, but doesn't really know him too well, but due to an even nicer note to Rowley, he gives up trying to impress her again, as well as forges a reply from Rowley turning her down. She appears in the script Greg makes for a skit for the talent show called The Boy Whose Family Thinks He's a Dog in Rodrick Rules. She also appears once in Dog Days. It is revealed in The Last Straw that Holly's middle name is Elizabeth. In the film adaptation of the sequel, things take a slightly different turn, and she ends up becoming a friend of Greg (and possible love interest). She is played by Peyton R. List.

 Chirag Gupta

Chirag Gupta is one of Greg's classmates. He is the shortest person in Greg's classes, but he has a strong punch. People often take advantage of his small size with pranks, such as the Invisible Chirag joke, wherein Greg and Chirag's other classmates still pretend he is gone after he moves back from California after a couple of months, but came back.
In the film adaptation of the first novel, he is played by Karan Brar and tells Greg and Rowley about the story of The Cheese Touch, and seems to be builled by the other kids.

 Patty Farrell

Patty Farrell is Greg's arch-nemesis in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She is the one who plays Dorothy in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Greg says that when he started throwing apples from his onstage tree at her, an apple hit Patty's lenses and she was unable to see more than two feet in front of her. In The Last Straw, Patty supervised the class when the teacher, Mrs. Craig was gone, and would not let Greg use the bathroom while she was supervising.
In the film adaptation of the novel, where she is played by Laine MacNeil, Patty goes against Greg in the wrestling match, she won and got it got printed on the front page of the School Newspaper along with a photo. The headline was 'A Great Day For Women' (In the movie). She was also Dorothy in the school play. Patty ruins the play by throwing a temper tantrum at Greg when he and the other cast members playing trees do not sing provoking Greg throwing apples at her. Patty also unknowingly catches the Cheese Touch from Rowley. She also really liked Rowley Jefferson, Greg's best friend and seemed to have beaten up Greg in kindergarten and the fourth grade for singing "Patty, Patty is a fatty, has a face just like a ratty," and making fun of her. She always reminds Greg that she can easily beat him up if he's mean to her, and always uses that as a threat.

Collin Lee

Collin Lee is Greg's back-up friend. Despite that, Collin becomes Rowley's new best friend in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In the movie, as him and Rowley make t-shirts like "Best Friends" and dance with their mothers and have ice cream cones and are said to stay over at his house a lot.
Also, Greg's pre-algebra teacher in Rodrick Rules is named Mrs. Lee. She and Collin could be related.

Alex Aruda

Alexander "Alex" Aruda is one of the smartest people in Greg's school. According to Greg, he is smart because teachers in Greg's school call on students whose last names are first in alphabetical order, forcing those kids to become the smartest. Although he is intelligent, Alex is oblivious to what goes on around him; for example, in The Last Straw, Alex does not realize his class is being kept inside for recess until Greg tells him so. He also stole Mrs. Craig's dictionary to study for the spelling bee.

Albert Sandy

He tells Greg and other classmates lies he hears about. Sometimes Greg tries doing the stuff he says, and it all fails.

Christopher Ziegel

Christopher Ziegel appears in the second book Rodrick Rules, and a lot of people think that he is very bad at math.
In the FunBrain version, his name is Larry Ziegel.

Mamadou Montpierre

Mamadou Montpierre was in Rodrick Rules and was Greg's pen-pal in France. They only wrote it because it was a class assignment. Greg does not keep up the contact because of a strange picture Mamadou sent him.

Marty Porter

Marty Porter is a boy who runs for Treasurer along with Greg in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. According to one of Greg's voting campaign posters, Marty had head lice in the second grade, it also says that it closed the whole school. He caught heat from Vice Principal Roy from them because he could not write fabrications about his opponents and confiscated them, even when Greg pointed out that it was not a fabrication.
In the FunBrain version, his name is said to be Musti Patel at first but is then changed to Marty Porter for some reason, and changed back to Musti Patel sometime afterwards.

Darren Walsh

Darren Walsh is the first victim of the Cheese Touch and is ostracized by his peers.
In the FunBrain version, his name is Darnell Washington.

[edit] Archie Kelly

Archie Kelly[2] plays one of the three trees in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Greg and another kid play the other two. During the play, Manny shouts "Bubby" upon seeing Greg, who then redirects the nickname to Archie.
The kid who plays the other tree, besides Greg and Archie, is said to be named Marty in the movie. However, his name is said to be D.J. Harold in the FunBrain version. His name is not revealed in the books.

Rodney James

Rodney James plays the shrub in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. On the night of the play, he has stage fright, even though he has no speaking lines.

George Fleer, Nicky Wood, Christopher Brownfield and Tyson Sanders

George Fleer, Nicholas "Nicky" Wood, Christopher Brownfield, and Tyson Sanders, along with Greg, form a Guess Who team in The Ugly Truth during a school lock-in. They were accused of taking a photograph of a student's butt, when it was actually Tyson's elbow.[6]

Manny Heffley-Character Close up

Manny Heffley

Manny Heffley is Greg's younger brother who is "spoiled" by his parents and he is also selfish, bratty, mean, paranoid and cowardly because of the spoiling. Manny usually gets whatever he wants in his life, mostly because he throws extreme tantrums. He does not care for his brothers and panics when he thinks something might harm him. He is commonly known for calling Greg "Bubby", which Greg finds upsetting, annoying and embarrassing. In Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Greg receives a birthday gift from Manny with the tag reading "To Bubby", which he quickly throws away, for fear of his friends finding out about the nickname. Also, he draws a picture on Greg's door and his parents find it cute, rather than rebuking him. In Rodrick Rules, Manny's potty training has a huge setback due to a joking reference to the "potty monster" by Uncle Joe. Whenever Greg has a sleepover with Rowley, Manny always interferes, which causes Rowley to leave early.
Manny has told on Greg for things he saw before talking age, such as breaking a sliding glass window, which had occurred two years before. Manny has cried in all the books except The Ugly Truth. (In Diary of a Wimpy Kid, he cried because he swallowed the tiny ball of thread that Greg told him was a spider. In Rodrick Rules, he cried because Susan said he could have died when he laughed so hard that apple juice came out of his nose. In The Last Straw, he cried because Rodrick melted his toy truck with a magnifying glass under the Sun and because Greg called him "Ploopy" in church. And in Dog Days, he cried because Rodrick said the hump seat in the car was horrible.) He once crawled into Rowley's sleeping bag at one of Greg's sleepovers, according to a story told in Rodrick Rules. In the upcoming book Cabin Fever, he will be the secondary main character.
He starts at age 2 and turns 3 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, starts at 3 and turns 4 in Rodrick Rules, remains 4 in The Last Straw and Dog Days, starts at 4 and turns 5 in The Ugly Truth, and remains 5 in Cabin Fever.
In the movies, Manny is portrayed by twins Connor and Owen Fielding.

Frank Heffley Character Close up

Frank Heffley

Frank Heffley is Greg's father. He is interested in U.S. history, especially the American Civil War, and he even made a replica of an American Civil War battle field. Frank is edgy around Rowley, does not appreciate Greg's skill at video games, loathes heavy metal music,,and strongly detests adolescents. He once threatened to send Greg to the Spag Union Military Academy. In The Last Straw, Frank is the main antagonist, as he is trying to toughen Greg up and threatening to send him to military school if he does not "shape up." Frank is also a junk-food addict and sometimes steals Greg's lunch snacks on which Greg depends to make it through the day.Dog Days after Frank rethinks sending Greg to Spag Union in the end of The Last Straw, but more significantly, over their mutual dislike of the comic strip Lil Cutie. Frank is played by Steve Zahn in the movies.

Susan Heffley-Character close up

Susan Heffley

Susan Heffley is Greg's mother. She tries hard to be a good, loving, and a dedicated mother and wife, but she constantly makes mistakes. Susan knows very little about modern children and teenagers, and her ignorance always bothers Greg and Rodrick.] She constantly tries to get Greg to enjoy reading in order to pull the family together, and helps Greg and Frank accustom themselves to the music of Rodrick's band, but her pursuits always end in failure. She often uses "lame old-school" tactics. She is also the main antagonist in Dog Days.
Susan and her husband pay far more attention to Manny than their other two sons (mostly Susan), and give their youngest nearly everything he wants. Susan humiliates Rodrick on stage during the school talent show in Rodrick Rules, when she performs an embarrassing dance on stage during Rodrick's band's heavy metal In the movies, she is played by Rachael Harris. performance .
In the FunBrain version, her first name is Ann.

Rodrickh Heffley Character Close-up

Rodrick Heffley

Rodrick Heffley is Greg's older brother and is often mean to Greg. He does not talk to his brother Manny at all, and is a fan of heavy metal. He starts a heavy metal band named Löded Diper but he misspelled it and the real name is Loaded Diaper who Greg says his band is terrible with their lead singer, Bill.
In Rodrick Rules, he is the main antagonist and constantly bullies Greg, threatening to spill Greg's "big secret". Rodrick enjoys sleeping, which is shown when his parents forget to wake him up. Consequently, he sleeps for thirty-six hours straight, not knowing he skipped a day of his life until the night of the day he woke up Rodrick also drives a van with his band's name, "Löded Diper" in giant letters.
In the movie, Rodrick is portrayed by Canadian actor Devon Bostick; Susan asks Rodrick to give Greg advice about middle school to which he tells Greg not to sit or go anywhere, sit down, raise his hand, or choose the wrong locker. He also admonished Greg that he had be dead or homeschooled by end of the year and not to be seen with Rowley. Also, Rodrick also called Rowley childish names on several occasions. These names includes Turd Burglar, Chummybuttons, Tool, Baby Hippo, and Chunky Cheese. And he got grounded for what his mother considered a pornographic magazine.
In the second film, Bostick reprised his role as Rodrick Heffley. Also, you see that he cares about his band very much, and becomes closer to Greg. After having a party behind his parents back and being found out, they forbid him from playing in the local talent show. Rodrick is devastated, and blames Greg. The new band member claims they will play anyway, even though Rodrick started the band. When Greg sees how much this hurts his brother, he agrees to be Rowley's assistant even though "it's embarrassing" and the girl he's crushing on is in the audience, if Rodrick can play. The show is a hit and the brothers make up. However, they return to their picking on each other, but this time it's more playful and you can see that they mean a lot to each other.
He starts at age 15 and turns 16 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, starts at 16 and turns 17 in Rodrick Rules, remains 17 in The Last Straw and Dog Days, starts at 17 and turns 18 in The Ugly Truth, and remains 18 in Cabin Fever

Diary of a wimpy kid Character Close-up : Rowley Jefferson

Personality

Rowley is Greg's best friend who usually helps Greg with his schemes, although Greg sees him as immature and ignorant. He has overprotective parents who dislike Greg. Rowley is somewhat foolish and naive as he usually listens to Greg while he is concocting a scheme. He is an only child and, according to Greg, a "vain fool." Rowley gets a lot of attention from the girls in his grade only because he is "cute" in a little kid way, according to Holly Hills. He was falsely accused of chasing kindergartners with a worm on a stick, which was actually Greg wearing Rowley's coat. He then told on Greg to the principal and Greg lost his duty on safety patrol. He did not forgive Greg when he apologized, so they weren't friends for a while, but they quickly got over it. Rowley was briefly the cartoonist of the school newspaper comic, "Zoo-Wee Mama!". Rowley also received the honor for being class clown. He had also eaten a piece of moldy cheese after being forced by some teenagers in the first book. In the third book, Rowley earns the nickname "Slick" only because he was shooed away from a locker another student sarcastically saying "step away from my locker, Slick". He also is shown to have younger children interests, such as childish birthday parties, childish toys and a fan of 'Joshie', who Greg believes is for six-year old girls. He also loves to visit newer countries, and imitates the culture of the countries he visits. In the movie, he is pictured as a little more sensitive, independent, and less close to Greg. He is also seen to be somewhat modest.

 Appearance

Rowley is a bit overweight and is shown wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts. In the winter, he is shown wearing a hat, ear muffs, a scarf, and a coat. In the movie, he usually wears a sweater vest. His mouth is open all the time in the books. He is played by Robert Capron.

Relationship with Greg
Rowley, being Greg's best friend, hangs out with Greg a lot and often goes around in Rodrick's "junk drawer" with him to look for horror movies and through Rodrick's personal belongings. Although Rowley is treated poorly for Greg's own desires at the beginning of the series, it is clear in book 4 that he is losing patience with Greg. Rowley is not very manly and this is starting to get on Greg's nerves. They are both getting on each others nerves a lot, and they are starting to drift apart. In The Ugly Truth, Greg and Rowley have stopped being friends, but they become friends again at the end of the book.

 Relationship with Fregley

Rowley has not many interactions with Fregley, but he dislikes him, like Greg due to him being weird and disgusting. and offered him and Greg pizza from the garbage

Reception

Acorrding to fans, Robert Capron wasn't what they imagined as seeing Rowley for the movie, but they accepted it anyway.
is played by Robert Capron.

Diary of a wimpy kid Character Close-up : Greg Heffley

Personality

In the books, Greg is depicted as underweight, selfish, greedy, absurd, idiotic, and rude also lazy (which he already knows he is). However, unlike his brother, Greg has been shown to show remorse for his actions and enjoys sleeping, which is shown more strongly in the movie. He explains that he is good at nothing except video games, which he spends most of his time playing. He grows an interest of drawing comics for the school newspaper before he quits when Mr. Ira, a teacher at his school who edits the comics, ruins it by trying to use it as an ad for the school's library. Greg comes up with many different ideas and sub-jobs, including becoming a safety patroler in school. He also has a crush on Holly Hills until the end of The Last Straw, where he decides it wouldn't work out because she mistakens him for Fregley. He began to have a crush on a new girl that moved to his street, called Trista, but it seems like she didn't have any interest in him. Greg later began to impress Heather Hills when she became a life guard at the town pool, but that didn't work either. It is presumed that Greg's family believes in the Catholic Christian faith because they attend church and in the visual novel Greg goes to confession. Greg often tries avoiding certain events (such as being in a school play) or to achieve a goal (such as impressing a crush), but almost all of Greg's scheme's fail and sometimes leads to serious, frustrating, and always unfair outcomes. He also has a huge uncomfort for Fregley. However, it also seems to be that he is becoming more active in sport, school and less of video gaming.

Appearance

Greg is usually depicted with a T-shirt and black shorts. In the winter he wears a small coat and black pants. He is very skinny and does not seem to eat or work out much. His father (in the first and third book) tries to get Greg to work out and exercise, but unfortunately for him Greg prefers playing video games and reading comic books..

Rodrick

Rowley

Rowley is Greg's overall best buddy. They met each other when Rowley moved into Greg's neighborhood. They go to the same school and walk there together, and they share 4 classes. Rowley has a number of peculiar characteristics which mostly embarrass Greg but sometimes interest him.
Probably the thing about Rowley that Greg resents the most is his lack of macho and with rather strange interests, such as a "Sweet Secrets" diary, an interest in the band singer Joshie (who Greg thinks might be for six-year old girls, although Rowley thought he was just jealous), sensitivity, love for the comic "Li'l Cutie" (which Greg hates), bumper boats, and kiddie birthday parties, Rowley's not exactly the picture of manliness. In the movie, Greg was talking Rowley into burning a shirt of him and his mom on it that said "Me and my Mommy".
Greg and Rowley have a complex relationship. They are both great friends, but Greg has a habit of treating Rowley poorly and often takes advantage of him for his own selfish desires. Rowley starts out as a pushover in the beginning of the series, being treated poorly by Greg and often following his schemes, but this trait seems to fade away as in the fourth book, as Rowley is starting to lose patience with Greg.
Rowley's dad does not like Greg and uses him as an example of a "bad influence". Although Rowley has been described as "unpopular" by Greg (thinking that he is about the 150th most popular kid in the school), girls seem to like him because he is cute (in a little kid way) and his family is always taking expensive vacations, like going to South America and Australia (as mentioned in the beginning of Rodrick Rules) and renting a log cabin on their trip to the beach late in Dog Days.

Family

Greg has a big family. He has two brothers; Rodrick (older brother) and Manny (younger brother). Frank is his father, and Susan is his mother.
He has six uncles: Gary, Tony, Charlie, Lawrence, Joe, and John, along with a great-uncle, Arthur. Grandpa (Frank's father) and Gramma (Susan's mother) are his grandparents, along with great-grandparents, Chester and Gammie.
He has eight aunts: Linda (Gary's first wife), Charlene (Gary's second wife), Lydia (Gary's third wife), Sonja (Gary's fourth wife), Dorthy, Brenda, Loretta, and Particia, along with John's unnamed wife and a great-aunt, Reba.
He has three cousins: Benjy (a baby whose only words were "No and "Shut Up"), Terrence (who looked exactly like Greg when he was a kid), and Byron, along with Joe's unnamed children.

Diary of a wimpy kid Movie: Rodrick Rules

The film opens with Greg (Zachary Gordon) and his family attending a skating rink for the year's new Seventh Graders. Here he reunites with his best friend Rowley (Robert Capron) and classmates Fregley (Grayson Russell) and Chirag (Karan Brar). Chirag tells Greg of the new girl, Holly Hills (Peyton R. List), who immediately becomes Greg's love interest. While attempting to skate with Holly, Greg's older brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick) intervenes, ending with their mother (Rachael Harris) speaking to him on the loudspeaker and further humiliating him by getting Greg's father (Steve Zahn) carrying him off the rink. As weeks go by, Greg's mom notices that the boys do not get along, and calls for a family meeting. She gives them a new incentive to get on together by rewarding them with "Mom Bucks", which they can trade in for real money. The boys eagerly accept and compete with each other to earn the Mom Bucks.
After a talent show is advertised on TV, the brothers see this as a big opportunity, Rowley suggesting he and Greg perform magic tricks, whilst Rodrick sees this as his band's big break. Greg and Rowley film Rowley lip-synching "Tik Tok" by Ke$ha and upload it to YouTube, which becomes an online hit, although only for two days.
On Sunday, the Heffley family goes to church. Greg is extremely reluctant to go inside, as a melted 3 Musketeers bar, intentionally placed on his seat by Rodrick, has stained his trousers. Greg's mom uses her blouse to cover up the stain, but the cover-up backfires when the family go to take communion and Rodrick exposes Greg's pants and the boys ultimately end up in a scuffle on the floor.
As punishment the brothers spend are to spend a weekend together to bond, whilst their parents and youngest brother Manny leave on a pre-planned holiday for the entire family. Against his parents' orders, Rodrick hosts a party at the house and locks Greg up in the basement. Rowley comes to 'save' Greg, but Rodrick locks him up in the basement as well, until a call from their mother ends in Rodrick letting the two out in return for their silence on the matter.
The next day the two get a call from their mom informing them Manny is sick and they're returning early from their vacation. The house is trashed, and the boys only have an hour to clean it up and erase all evidence of the party before their parents arrive home. A door marked with 'Rodrick Rules' in permanent marker leads the brothers to replace it, before realizing it has no lock. Their mother notices it after a while, causing Greg to confess. However, in order to prevent Rodrick from getting angry at him (Rodrick previously had told him to "deny everything"), he says the party was only a band rehearsal, and the two escape punishment. Rodrick, thinking Greg did deny everything, tells Greg he's 'not as half as lame as he thought', and the two brothers become friends. Greg asks Rodrick for advice on Holly Hills, but his attempts fail and embarrass him instead.
The boys sneak out of the house one night to put fake vomit on the cars in the nearby mall parking lot. After suprising various people returning to their cars, the two put the fake vomit on one last car only to discover the owner to be Coach Malone (Andrew McNee), Greg's soccer coach. After a chase, the two manage to escape the angry soccer coach by putting their jackets on two mannequins, which the coach then tackles, giving the boys time to go back home.
Greg and Rodrick return home only to find that their father has inadvertently come across photos of the party. The boys are punished, Greg is grounded for two weeks with no video games, and Rodrick is grounded for two weeks and is not allowed to participate in the talent show. The brothers instantly go back to their former relationship and spend the weekend with their grandfather in his retirement home. Whilst there, Greg runs into Holly, who was visiting her grandmother, and it is revealed they have identical families. Holly gives him some advice and the two part, Greg feeling more positive.
Greg then proceeds to write his positive feelings about Holly on his Diary which Rodrick gets ahold of and reads. Rodrick then threatens to tell Holly and runs towards the lobby to do so. Greg, despite being in his underwear, chases after Rodrick and manages to snatch away the diary and runs towards the bathroom and starts ripping out the pages of the diary and flushes them down the toilet. However, he discovers he is in the ladies' room, but manages to evade the angry women who think he is a Peeping Tom. He arrives back in only to find that Rodrick caught everything on tape via security camera and threatens to show it to everyone.
At the talent show a few nights later, Rowley's performance is unable to take place, as his eight-year-old assistant Scotty gets stage fright. Greg's mom says he will do the show with Rowley, but Greg refuses, saying he doesn't want to be embarrassed in front of Holly. Meanwhile Rodrick is kicked out of his own band by Bill Walter (Fran Kranz), who gives the excuse "That's rock'n'roll for you". Greg then bargains with his mom to allow Rodrick to perform, if he will perform with Rowley. The Magic show is a hit with the audience and Holly Hills meets Greg backstage whilst other girls are getiing Rowley's autograph and tells him she loved their show. Rodrick and his band perform, and sing their song Explöded Diper. The crowd isn't impressed, until they see Greg's mom dancing and dance along. Rodrick gets to perform, Greg's mom is happy and overall, Greg is happy having fixed his problems with his family.
The film ends with Rodrick driving Greg to school. Rodrick tells Greg that it was cool of him to let him play last night. The boys forgive each other, then Rodrick gives Greg the tape back, telling him not to talk about it or he'll put it on YouTube. As Greg arrives at school, Rodrick playfully then calls Greg "doofus" and they both smile at each other. Then Greg says "Later buttbrain" and the two boys create a new friendship by realizing it's fun to have a brother.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie

11-year-old Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) is anxious to start middle school, confident he will easily become the school's most popular kid. However, Greg worries about how his "childlike" best friend, Rowley JeffersonRobert Capron), will fit in. While Rowley is a good friend who helps Greg escape his terrorizing older brother, Rodrick (Devon Bostick), Greg worries that Rowley's "dorky" clothes and personality will embarrass both of them. (
On their first day, Greg and Rowley meet Angie Steadman (Chloë Moretz), a seventh grader who works for the school's paper. Throughout the school year, Angie gives Greg and Rowley information about the workings of middle school, which she believes was created to store kids while they make the awkward transition between children to teenagers. Classmate Chirag Gupta (Karan Brar) tells Greg and Rowley the story behind the moldy slice of Swiss cheese laying on the school's basketball court; upon touching the cheese, a kid named Darren Walsh (Harrison Houde) contracted the Cheese Touch; anyone who touches the cheese will create chaos as they pass on the Cheese Touch by touching someone else. The Cheese Touch eventually got taken away by a German exchange student named Dieter Müller, who moved back to Düsseldorf and took the Cheese Touch with him.
Greg is determined to be voted a "class favorite" and listed in the yearbook, but each of his attempts to do so backfire. His popularity quickly drops as he loses to Patty Farrell (Laine MacNeil), Greg's archenemy, and Fregley (Grayson Russell), the weirdest and 201st most popular (past the bottom) kid in school, in scholastic wrestling (taught by Coach Malone, portrayed by Andrew McNee); Greg angers teenagers on HalloweenFord F150 pickup truck with a weed whacker; Greg joins the geeky Safety Patrol with Rowley; and breaks Rowley's left hand during winter vacation during a game Greg invented with his Big Wheel. At school, everyone notices Rowley's broken hand and Rowley becomes very popular, much to Greg's dismay. Rowley's popularity increases when he beats Greg to become the school paper's cartoonist, despite Greg's dismissal of his ideas. night by threatening to call the cops on them after they spray him and Rowley with a fire extinguisher, and then damages their eight-generation
Greg and Rowley's friendship falls apart after Greg allows Rowley to take the blame for a mistake Greg made during Safety Patrol. After Greg tells Rowley the truth and tries to tell it as a joke, Rowley berates him for being a bad friend who cares about nothing but himself. When Mr. Winsky, the Safety Patrol teacher, heard what had actually happened, he told Greg that he was now relieved of his Safety Patrol duties "effective immediately", and promotes Rowley to a captain. Rowley then leaves Greg and befriends a kid named Collin Lee (Alex Ferris). Greg tries to move on by having a sleep over with Fregley, but Fregley's sugar-induced hyperactivity is too much for him to take. He then tries to pursue popularity without Rowley by auditioning for the school play of The Wizard of Oz, but the performance is ruined by Patty when she throws a temper tantrum at Greg when he doesn't sing and blames him for the play being ruined and Greg throws an apple at her resulting an apple-throwing fight in the middle of the performance.
At the school mother-son dance, Greg's mother (Rachael Harris) suggests Greg ask Rowley to go out for ice cream with them. However, Collin tells Greg that he and Rowley already have plans. Later, Greg is excited when Rowley comes up to him in school, but is disappointed when he learns Rowley only wants a game back. Greg refuses to return the game, causing them to get into an argument. Kids gather around them, wanting them to fight, but are quickly dispelled when the teenagers that Greg and Rowley had angered on Halloween drive up, looking for revenge. The kids find the Cheese and make Rowley eat it. They are about to force Greg to eat the cheese when Coach Malone arrives, leading the kids to run away.
The children return and find the partially eaten cheese. Patty begins to accuse Rowley, but Greg steps in and takes the blame. He picks up the cheese and makes a profound speech about the ridiculousness of the cheese and other middle school institutions, but Patty ruins it when she shouts out that Greg has the Cheese Touch, causing everyone to run away from Greg. Greg and Rowley make up, and Angie approaches them to compliment Greg for his bravery. Greg and Rowley make it into the class favorites list as "cutest friends". The film ends with Greg, Rowley, and Angie laughing after Patty hugged Rowley and contracted the Cheese Touch, and Greg narrating that he still has the summer and next year ahead of him.

Diary of a wimpy kid Book 5

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 5

It has been two weeks since Greg Heffley had a big fight with his ex-best-friend, Rowley Jefferson. Then he finds out that Rowley's parents found a replacement best friend: a hired role-model from a company called "Cool Brian".
Greg attempts to score popularity points at school with a textbook that was previously owned by Jordan Jury, the most popular student in the grade above Greg's. He also posts edited photos on the Internet in an attempt to try and convince others that he has a fun life. (which he doesn't)
Greg then attempts to audition for a local ice cream advertisement for an ice cream company called "Peachy Breeze." Greg fails his audition due to him being too old to fit the part for a 3-6 year old. Greg then explains how he is discriminated because of his age by his own family, stating he was the center of attention when he was younger and is now disliked and ignored due to Manny, his younger brother.
Greg is then informed that his Uncle Gary will marry for the fourth time, and that when his wedding comes, Greg will have "The Talk" with his great-grandmother Gammie, a polite but sly and clever old woman.
Susan Heffley, Greg's mother, announces that she will be going back to college for a few months in order to stimulate her mind. As a result, the Heffley men must take care of themselves, and most stability falls apart. Food is often ruined, and Frank Heffley, Greg's father, sprains his ankle, when they try to go out to eat. As Susan usually does the chores around the house, Greg is left with little clean clothes to wear. Greg also complains that he must take more time to do his homework, since Susan often helps in in the way of giving him all the answers, and his father, Frank Heffley, makes him do the work on his own and helping very little. Greg is also given the responsibility of waking himself up. He tries a better alarm clock than his older one, which didn't work, a wind-up clock. Thinking the ticking of it was a bomb, he got no sleep. As a result, Greg accidentally set off the fire alarm at school in his sleep-deprived state, but manages not to get caught.
Greg faces more misfortunes, such as facing a serious, ill-tempered, paranoid dentist instead of going to a fun dentist center where Greg has a crush on one of the hygienists there, failing a high-grade Health classegg like it is a baby, and dealing with an extremely lazy maid who Susan hired to clean the house who refuses to do Greg's laundry, hogs the TV, and takes naps in Greg's bed. assignment, where he must take care of an
At school, a "Lock-In" is organized where boys and girls Greg's age have a supervised slumber party in the school auditorium. It turns out to be a disaster, in which there are nearly no girls, excess amounts of chaperones, all technology is confiscated, boring and risky party games, an incident where the chaperones think one of Greg's team members of a game photographed their buttocks, and a freezing cold night in which the chaperones intentionally turned off the heater and switched on the air conditioner to keep the misbehaving boys in their beds.
Rowley comes to school with a large pimple on his forehead. This makes Greg wonder about his growth spurt. They are then both invited to one of Jordan Jury's notoriously wild parties, in which many girls come. Unfortunately for Greg, the party takes place on the same day as his Uncle Gary's wedding. Greg is humiliated and bored at the wedding, and then receives "The Talk" from Gammie. Gammie explains to Greg the stress and horrors of becoming and being an adult both physically and mentally, which causes Greg to enjoy his late childhood for now.
At this point Greg's mother Susan stops going to college for now to returns to the family, much to Greg's delight. Greg also decided to make the first move and mends his friendship with his ex-best friend Rowley, and the two became friends again.

Diary of a wimpy kid Book 4

Diary of a wimpy kid Book 4

The book opens describing Greg's worst summer ever beginning with Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson going to Rowley's country club after school closes for the summer, but Greg is kicked out because he complained of even the smallest predicaments. The beach trip that he was looking forward to is canceled because the Heffleys don't have any money; the Heffleys resort to going to the town pool, which Greg dislikes because of its hairy and rotund visitors.[1]
Later, Greg and Rowley have a sleepover together, and watch a horror movie taken from Rodrick's room. After the movie, Greg and Rowley soon became paranoid on account of a muddy hand that might kill them, which was in the movie. Unfortunately for Greg, his mother, Susan realises that he and Rowley watched the horror movie after Greg's father told her when he found them sleeping in the bathroom. And then she starts a reading club in which he is the only participant after two days. The reading program, however, is put to a stop when Mr. Jefferson arrives with a huge bill that Greg and Rowley spent on fruit smoothies at the country club, and he forces Greg and Rowley to pay it off.[1]
Greg and Rowley decide to do a lawn care service to pay the debt, but Mr. Jefferson only makes them one flyer for their business, after he tells them they can't use his computer. Their first customer is Mrs. Canfield, who lives on Greg's grandmother's street. Unfortunately, the job ended as a fiasco when the boys never used a lawn mower before, all the gas leaks out of the mower, and the instructions are in Spanish. When Greg tells Rowley he has to do most of the work while Greg counts the money, that made Rowley annoyed and he quits. Greg mows Mrs. Canfield's lawn by himself, but she refuses to pay him because he didn't mow all of her lawn because of the dog poop on there.[1]
Greg’s birthday soon arrives, but the gifts he receives are all gifts he loathes, including a useless cellphone that only calls home and 911. This is because Greg's parents believe that he, like his older brother Rodrick, will just rise the bill up if he gets a regular cellphone. Greg gets money in every card he receives, but Susan, his mother, confiscates it to pay off Mr. Jefferson. Uncle Joe’s dog, Killer, devours much of Greg’s cake, thus "ruining" his birthday. The following day, he and Rodrick both get fish as a makeup gift, even though it wasn't Rodrick's birthday, which Greg said was "unfair". However, when the family takes a trip to a water park, Rodrick's fish eats Greg's fish after Susan puts Rodrick's fish in the same bowl because Rodrick didn't feed the fish or clean the bowl once and was starting to feed off the algae growing on it.[1]
The next day is Father's Day, so the Heffleys visit Leisure Towers to spend the day with Greg's grandfather. There, Frank tells of how his dog, Nutty, ran away to a butterfly farm. Greg's grandfather then explains that he had actually run the dog over and Greg's father takes off in annoyance. He then buys a dog which Susan names "Sweetheart" and shortens to "Sweetie", even though the dog is actually male. Even though Greg has wanted a dog for a long time, he quickly becomes annoyed at Sweetie, who naps on his pillow, sleeps on his bed, and won't stop barking at the television, and the only way that gets him to stop barking is when a commercial with gophers popping out of their holes comes up.[1]
Greg's mother keeps making Greg go to the town pool with her and Manny, which Greg agrees to only to hang out with Heather Hills, who is a female lifeguard there. Greg tries to make a good impression to her, even though she barely pays any attention to him. One day, Greg decides to end the so-called "relationship" when he makes her clean a kid's vomit and was too sick to clean it himself after he had to save Manny from the naked shower people.[1]
The Jeffersons later invite Greg to go to the beach with them, which is where Greg had wanted to go, but he realises it wasn't what he expected, where he begins to have a breakdown from no electronics, almost got jumped by teenagers he pulled a prank on, and especially the Cranium Shaker, which almost makes Greg vomit. He tries to entertain himself, but he is sent home after he snaps a rubber band at Rowley.[1]
Susan later tries to get Frank and Greg together, but both of them realise that they should keep their distance. She even got them tickets for a baseball game, but Greg thought Frank was trying to get rid of him for the incident that happened earlier, and calls the police on him, only embarrassed to discover the truth. To get out of it, they had to give the two cops their tickets. However, they both hate much of the same things, such as a comic named Li’l Cutie, where the writer has retired and passed it on to his son (who was possibly the basis of the character when he was little) and has made the comic even worse. Later, Sweetie is given to Greg's grandmother for company after her old dog Henry died.[1]
The book ends with Greg realizing that summer is over when he sees a photo album titled "Best Summer Ever!" It is a "horrible record" of that summer to Greg, but Greg writes that the person who had taken the pictures had told the story.[1]
