Gregs Classmates Characters Close up

Greg's classmates

 Fregley

Fregley, is a repulsive, disgusting, dorky, and weird kid. In Dog Days, it is revealed that he is sent home once every month for improper hygiene. Greg expresses discomfort around Fregley, especially because every time Greg walks by his front yard to get to Rowley's house, Fregley tries to talk Greg into topics such as his "secret freckle" or how his scab smells. Fregley never leaves his front yard during the summer, which Greg believes is because Fregley's parents had installed an electric fence around the yard. In the movie, he is played by Grayson Russell and in the second movie, he is said to join the cheerleader's team
In the FunBrain version, his name is spelled "Fregly," and he does not go to school.

 Holly Hills

Holly Hills, the sister of Heather Hills, is a girl Greg likes in The Last Straw. According to Greg, she is the fourth prettiest girl in his grade. At the end of The Last Straw, Greg gives up on trying to make Holly his girlfriend because she mistakes him for Fregley, which Greg takes as an insult. Also, she tells Greg that he's OK, but doesn't really know him too well, but due to an even nicer note to Rowley, he gives up trying to impress her again, as well as forges a reply from Rowley turning her down. She appears in the script Greg makes for a skit for the talent show called The Boy Whose Family Thinks He's a Dog in Rodrick Rules. She also appears once in Dog Days. It is revealed in The Last Straw that Holly's middle name is Elizabeth. In the film adaptation of the sequel, things take a slightly different turn, and she ends up becoming a friend of Greg (and possible love interest). She is played by Peyton R. List.

 Chirag Gupta

Chirag Gupta is one of Greg's classmates. He is the shortest person in Greg's classes, but he has a strong punch. People often take advantage of his small size with pranks, such as the Invisible Chirag joke, wherein Greg and Chirag's other classmates still pretend he is gone after he moves back from California after a couple of months, but came back.
In the film adaptation of the first novel, he is played by Karan Brar and tells Greg and Rowley about the story of The Cheese Touch, and seems to be builled by the other kids.

 Patty Farrell

Patty Farrell is Greg's arch-nemesis in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She is the one who plays Dorothy in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Greg says that when he started throwing apples from his onstage tree at her, an apple hit Patty's lenses and she was unable to see more than two feet in front of her. In The Last Straw, Patty supervised the class when the teacher, Mrs. Craig was gone, and would not let Greg use the bathroom while she was supervising.
In the film adaptation of the novel, where she is played by Laine MacNeil, Patty goes against Greg in the wrestling match, she won and got it got printed on the front page of the School Newspaper along with a photo. The headline was 'A Great Day For Women' (In the movie). She was also Dorothy in the school play. Patty ruins the play by throwing a temper tantrum at Greg when he and the other cast members playing trees do not sing provoking Greg throwing apples at her. Patty also unknowingly catches the Cheese Touch from Rowley. She also really liked Rowley Jefferson, Greg's best friend and seemed to have beaten up Greg in kindergarten and the fourth grade for singing "Patty, Patty is a fatty, has a face just like a ratty," and making fun of her. She always reminds Greg that she can easily beat him up if he's mean to her, and always uses that as a threat.

Collin Lee

Collin Lee is Greg's back-up friend. Despite that, Collin becomes Rowley's new best friend in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In the movie, as him and Rowley make t-shirts like "Best Friends" and dance with their mothers and have ice cream cones and are said to stay over at his house a lot.
Also, Greg's pre-algebra teacher in Rodrick Rules is named Mrs. Lee. She and Collin could be related.

Alex Aruda

Alexander "Alex" Aruda is one of the smartest people in Greg's school. According to Greg, he is smart because teachers in Greg's school call on students whose last names are first in alphabetical order, forcing those kids to become the smartest. Although he is intelligent, Alex is oblivious to what goes on around him; for example, in The Last Straw, Alex does not realize his class is being kept inside for recess until Greg tells him so. He also stole Mrs. Craig's dictionary to study for the spelling bee.

Albert Sandy

He tells Greg and other classmates lies he hears about. Sometimes Greg tries doing the stuff he says, and it all fails.

Christopher Ziegel

Christopher Ziegel appears in the second book Rodrick Rules, and a lot of people think that he is very bad at math.
In the FunBrain version, his name is Larry Ziegel.

Mamadou Montpierre

Mamadou Montpierre was in Rodrick Rules and was Greg's pen-pal in France. They only wrote it because it was a class assignment. Greg does not keep up the contact because of a strange picture Mamadou sent him.

Marty Porter

Marty Porter is a boy who runs for Treasurer along with Greg in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. According to one of Greg's voting campaign posters, Marty had head lice in the second grade, it also says that it closed the whole school. He caught heat from Vice Principal Roy from them because he could not write fabrications about his opponents and confiscated them, even when Greg pointed out that it was not a fabrication.
In the FunBrain version, his name is said to be Musti Patel at first but is then changed to Marty Porter for some reason, and changed back to Musti Patel sometime afterwards.

Darren Walsh

Darren Walsh is the first victim of the Cheese Touch and is ostracized by his peers.
In the FunBrain version, his name is Darnell Washington.

[edit] Archie Kelly

Archie Kelly[2] plays one of the three trees in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Greg and another kid play the other two. During the play, Manny shouts "Bubby" upon seeing Greg, who then redirects the nickname to Archie.
The kid who plays the other tree, besides Greg and Archie, is said to be named Marty in the movie. However, his name is said to be D.J. Harold in the FunBrain version. His name is not revealed in the books.

Rodney James

Rodney James plays the shrub in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. On the night of the play, he has stage fright, even though he has no speaking lines.

George Fleer, Nicky Wood, Christopher Brownfield and Tyson Sanders

George Fleer, Nicholas "Nicky" Wood, Christopher Brownfield, and Tyson Sanders, along with Greg, form a Guess Who team in The Ugly Truth during a school lock-in. They were accused of taking a photograph of a student's butt, when it was actually Tyson's elbow.[6]
